Home-schooling, also known as home education, is the education of children at home or at a variety of places other than school. In practical terms, this means that the home becomes the centre of a child's education, rather than a school. Because of Covid-19, unsafe school environment, unavailable space and/or other variety of reasons you might be considering Home Education. We are here to help.
Home-schooling is about academic excellence. Because a child's education is designed just for them, the child's potential can be fully realized. Each child can learn at their own pace. Areas in which a child excels can be maximized and accelerated. Areas in which a child struggles can be focused on until the child really conquers that subject. True learning becomes the primary focus of education. Home-schooling isn't a practice of isolating children at home, as those who are ignorant of home-schooling sometimes think. Rather, parents include outside classes, tutors, field trips, service work, sports, and other means to add a large variety of learning opportunities and experiences to a child's education. The reality is that home schoolers enjoy experiences and activities that are simply not possible for children in a public or private school because of the many limitations that are integral to those institutions. These experiences enhance the academic elements of the home-school to maximize the child's intellectual development.
The child has to be registered with the Department of Education and the lesson you offered to the child must fall within the compulsory scope designed by the Department.
After your child has been registered for Home Education, our tutors and
administrators will keep and monitor the following: -
Record of attendance.
Portfolio of the child’s work.
Up- to- date records of the child’s progress.
Portfolio of the educational support given to the child.
Evidence of the continuous assessment of the child’s work.
Evidence of the assessment and/or examination at the end of each year.
Evidence at the end of grade 3,6 and 9, that shows whether your child has achieved the
outcomes for these grades.
